1540 Ventures, with offices in New York and San Francisco, is focused on Seed and Series A round investment in intelligent device leveraging integration & data collection, physical AI, Software-as-a Medical Device, the intersection of digital biology and medicine, in-vitro diagnostics, digital manufacturing software & services, wearable health technology, and women’s health.

We are particularly interested in MedTech carve-outs and spinoffs of transformative intellectual property and build-to-buy programs where much of the exit risk has been mitigated by the corporate or PE sponsor.

Mitigating the risk of early-stage investment

At the time investment is made, our portfolio companies are engaged in meaningful discussion with a corporate or financial sponsor, or a likely acquiror, where milestones that would tigger a pre-negotiated purchase have been mutually agreed to between the parties.  These discussions further corroborate our due diligence and mitigate pathway risk.

Our deal flow is proprietary and unique.  By partnering with Tier I & II strategic investors, high-end development partners, and PE investors, we have a first look at the most innovative and commercially promising of medical technologies.
